What this game practises

Parenthesis supplies extra information while the main sentence remains grammatically complete without it. These prompts explicitly request brackets, so the game has a clear target; commas or dashes can mark parenthesis in other contexts. Read the sentence with and without the bracketed words, check that the information relates clearly to the right noun, then try an original example.

Progress and trying again

The normal game controls let children finish, save stars on this device and play again. A previous best result is kept when a later attempt scores less. Matching games count incorrect pairs; ordering games score the first check of each round; sorting games give another chance after a mistake. Take time to talk about a choice rather than racing.
